Conon Bridge Trust

A Conon Bridge Community Trust Steering Group has now been established. One of the first actions will be to ascertain the view of the residents of Conon Bridge on whether they support the formation of a Trust or not. 

The Trust, would be owned by its members - who are local people, keen to see Conon Bridge, an area which suffers from regular negative or no representation in the media, improve. The membership vote for Trustees at an AGM, further Board Members can be co-opted during the year. 

One of the aims of the Trust would be to advance environmental protection and improvement of Conon Bridge.

The first – very ambitious – project suggested for the Trust is the Purchase of 6.5 acres of land at the Fish Factory, off the High Street. The Community Council’s proposal is that part of the site be developed for a BMX Track and Local Park.

There are a number of organisations that can help with the capital required to purchase the site. The actual development of the site would be up to the new Trust.

The Trust will run other projects with a view to improving Conon Bridge. The Community Council has a wish list of projects that it would like to do, but cannot as it is not permitted own land or have employees.
